Track & Field Prepare for National Stage at NJCAA Indoor Championships
The Colby Trojans track and field teams will head to Topeka this weekend to compete in the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on March 6–7 at Washburn University. The two-day national meet will bring together the top junior college athletes in the country as Colby looks to close out its indoor season with strong performances on the national stage.

The Trojans will be represented by several athletes on both the men's and women's sides who have achieved national qualifying marks throughout the season.
On the men's side, Javano Bridgewater will compete in the 400 meters and 600 meters after recording qualifying times in both events during the indoor season.
Distance standout Kenan Delestre qualified in three events, earning spots in the 1,000 meters, 3,000 meters, and the mile, giving Colby multiple scoring opportunities in distance races. Teammate Alexandre LeRoy qualified in both the 800 meters and 1,000 meters, while Thomas Calas also did in the 800 meters and 1,000 meters.Enoha Reizabal-Bellanger secured a national qualifying mark in the 3,000 meters and will join Delestre in the distance races.
Colby will also compete in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR), where the Trojans enter with the second-fastest time in program history. The relay team will consist of LeRoy, Calas, Delestre, and Leonardo Clement, combining the program's top middle-distance runners in one of the premier relay events of the meet.
On the women's side, Beatrice Boakye leads the Trojans after qualifying in three events, giving Colby versatility across multiple sprint races. Distance runner Nadine McIntyre will compete in the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters, providing the Trojans with opportunities in the longer distance events. In the sprints, Ashleah Hewitt qualified for the 60 meters with a time of 7.68 seconds, while Faith Vine will also compete in the event after posting a 7.70-second qualifying mark.
Colby will also send its 4x400-meter relay team, which includes Boakye, Randieunna Jeffery, and Vine. The relay squad holds the school record in the event and enters the national meet with a season-best time of 3:55.49.
Competition begins Friday morning with combined events and field events before the first round of running finals throughout the afternoon and evening. The meet concludes Saturday with additional finals and the team awards ceremony.
With a balanced group of sprinters, middle-distance runners, distance athletes, and relay teams competing, the Trojans will look to make their presence felt against the nation's best at the NJCAA Indoor Championships under first year head coach Sandra Glover.
