Colby Community College has been a cornerstone of western Kansas education since its founding in 1964, providing students with affordable, high-quality academic and athletic opportunities in a supportive community environment. Located in Colby, Kansas, CCC has built a reputation for academic excellence, student success, and competitive athletics while continuing to grow through innovation and community support.
As a member of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and the NJCAA, Colby Community College Athletics is committed to developing student-athletes both on and off the field of play. Trojan athletics emphasizes excellence in competition, academics, leadership, and character while creating an environment where student-athletes can thrive and prepare for success beyond college.
Colby Community College is coordinated by the Kansas Board of Regents and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, with accreditation reaffirmed in 2020. In addition, many of the College’s academic and technical programs hold specialized accreditation through respected national organizations, reflecting CCC’s commitment to maintaining high standards across all areas of education.
Under the leadership of President Dr. Seth Carter and the College’s administrative team, CCC continues to invest in student growth, campus development, and long-term sustainability through its 2022-2027 Strategic Plan. The plan focuses on student success, institutional growth, and strengthening partnerships throughout the communities the College serves.
The College is also supported by the CCC Endowment Foundation, which works to raise funds and scholarship opportunities that directly benefit students, academic programs, and campus initiatives. Through generous donor support and annual fundraising events, the Foundation continues to play a major role in enriching the student experience at Colby Community College.

Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference
The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) is one of the premier and most competitive conferences in the National Junior College Athletic Association, featuring 20 member institutions across the state of Kansas. Since its founding in 1923, the conference has built a strong tradition of excellence in athletics, academics, and student-athlete development.
The KJCCC sponsors championships in 23 sports and has produced more than 150 NJCAA national championships across men’s and women’s competition. Member institutions consistently compete at a high level nationally while also emphasizing academic achievement and leadership opportunities for student-athletes.
Throughout its history, the conference has helped develop countless All-Americans, national champions, Olympians, and professional athletes. Former KJCCC athletes have gone on to compete in the NFL, Major League Baseball, the Olympics, and other professional leagues around the world, highlighting the conference’s reputation as one of the top junior college athletic associations in the country.
Today, the KJCCC continues to provide student-athletes with elite competition, strong academic support, and opportunities to advance both athletically and professionally through its member colleges across Kansas.
