Women’s Track & Field Makes Strong Mark at Alex Francis Classic
The Colby Trojans women’s track and field team put together an impressive showing at the Alex Francis Classic in Hays, highlighted by multiple top finishes and marks that etched their way up the program record book.
HAYS, Kan. - The Colby Trojans women's track and field team put together an impressive showing at the Alex Francis Classic in Hays on , highlighted by multiple top finishes and marks that etched their way up the program record book.
Leading the way was Randieunna Jeffery, who delivered a standout performance in the 400-meter hurdles, placing second with a personal-best time of 1:04.74. Her mark now ranks second in school history, continuing a strong season in the event.
Distance runner Nadine Mcintyre also turned in a big performance, finishing second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:16.82. That mark now places her eighth in program history, further solidifying her place among the Trojans' top distance athletes.
In the sprints, Ashleah Hewitt had an outstanding meet, placing sixth in both the 100 meters (12.03) and 200 meters (25.02). Her 200-meter time now ranks ninth in school history, adding another milestone to her performance.
Overall, the Trojans showcased high-level performances across multiple events and will now turn their focus to the upcoming regional championships in Arkansas City, hosted by Cowley College, where they'll look to carry that momentum into postseason competition.
