EMPORIA, Kan. – The Colby women's track and field team continued to show steady progress at the Midwest Classic, highlighted by a school record, an event title, and multiple top finishes this week (April 2-3).
Leading the way for the Trojans was Beatrice Boakye, who delivered a record-breaking performance in the 400 meters. Boakye captured first place with a time of 55.36, setting a new school record while also hitting an NJCAA qualifying mark. The performance marks the second time this outdoor season she has broken her own program record, continuing her dominant start to the outdoor season.
Faith Vine also turned in a strong meet on the track, placing fifth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.87, a mark that now ranks sixth in school history. She followed that with a seventh-place finish in the 200 meters (25.88), leading the Trojans in both sprint events.
In the hurdles, Randieunna Jeffery delivered one of the top performances in program history, finishing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.16, which ranks second all-time at Colby. The Trojans also saw solid contributions across the lineup, including a ninth-place finish from Nadine McIntyre in the 1,500 meters (4:57.56).
With a record-setting performance and continued improvement across multiple event groups, the Trojans look to continue the season next weekend in El Dorado at the Grizzly Gold Invite.
