Women's Basketball Continue Conference Play at Home
The Colby Trojans women’s basketball team looks to bounce back this week after dropping its last two contests, including a road game at No. 17 Hutchinson. The Trojans enter the week 14–13 (11–10 KJCCC) and currently sit sixth in the conference standings, with the top eight teams earning the opportunity to host a first-round playoff game.

The Colby Trojans women's basketball team looks to bounce back this week after dropping its last two contests, including a road game at No. 17 Hutchinson. Colby will host Fort Hays Tech Northwest on Wednesday (Feb. 25) before traveling to Garden City Community College on Saturday (Feb. 28).
Desiree Ulmer continues to lead the Trojans offensively, averaging 14.4 points per game on 10.6 field goal attempts while also pacing the team on the boards with 7.0 rebounds per game. Easha Potts ranks second on the team in rebounding at 6.1 per contest. Piri Lewis leads Colby in assists with 38 on the season, while Olivia Hultgren averages 2.0 assists per game.
Defensively, Colby has been strong throughout the season, with three players averaging over one steal per game and the Trojans holding opponents to the fifth-fewest points per game in the conference.
Fort Hays Tech Northwest enters Wednesday's matchup with two wins on the season and a 2–19 conference record, tied for last place in the KJCCC standings. The Tech Tigers are led by Vitoria Fernandes, who averages 9.5 points per game while shooting 35.2 percent from three-point range and 38.6 percent from the field.
Fernandes and Marta Rodriguez both average more than 2.0 assists per game, while Fati Fall leads the team in rebounding at 4.3 per contest. The Tigers feature balanced work on the glass with four players averaging at least 4.0 rebounds per game.
Garden City enters Saturday's matchup just behind Colby in the conference standings with a 10–11 KJCCC record and a 15–11 overall mark, including a 6–6 record on the road. The Broncbusters are currently on a four-game losing streak and will face Cloud County Community College prior to Saturday's contest.
Sokhna Ndiaye leads Garden City with 18.4 points per game on 15.3 shots per contest. Marshea Fisher and Caryle Fortas each average 3.2 assists per game, with Fisher also leading the team in rebounding at 6.0 per game.
Wednesday's game will feature Jersey Night, with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosting a tailgate inside the Event Center beginning at 4 p.m. and continuing between games. Saturday will serve as Sophomore Day, recognizing both the men's and women's basketball teams between contests.
