Equestrian Secures Three National Qualifying Rides at Western Semi-Finals

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Colby equestrian is headed to the national stage following an impressive showing at the Western Semi-Finals hosted by New Mexico State University in Las Cruces.
Facing a deep and highly competitive field made up of top riders from across the region, the Trojans delivered when it mattered most, producing three national qualifying rides in western competition.
Kairi Quinn led the charge with a standout weekend in the show pen. Competing in Individual Level 2 Horsemanship, Quinn earned a third-place finish, showcasing strong positioning, control, and consistency throughout her pattern. She followed that performance with a fourth-place finish in Ranch Riding, demonstrating versatility and command across disciplines. Both finishes met national qualifying standards, securing her place on the national stage.
Sidney Morgan added to the Trojans' success with a strong ride in Individual Level 1 Horsemanship. Competing in a large and competitive class, Morgan delivered a poised and technically sound performance to earn a third-place finish, punching her ticket to nationals and giving Colby its third qualifying ride of the weekend.
As a team, Colby showed their ability to perform at one of the most competitive qualifying events of the season.
With the Western Semi-Finals complete, the Trojans now turn their focus to the Hunt Seat Zones hosted by Stanford University. The IHSA National Championship in North Carolina is set to be held in May, where they will compete against the nation's top riders and programs.
