Women’s Wrestling Fall in Pair of Duals in Hastings
The Colby Trojans women’s wrestling team battled through a competitive tri-dual on Thursday securing multiple individual victories despite team losses to Sioux Falls and Hastings.
HASTINGS, Neb. - The Colby Trojans women's wrestling team battled through a competitive tri-dual on Thursday (Dec. 11), securing multiple individual victories despite team losses to Sioux Falls and Hastings.
Colby earned four wins in the dual, but fell 30-20. One win was by a dominant technical fall from Atavia Cain, who rolled to a 15–4 victory. Kaylen McAtee followed with a strong performance of her own, securing a fall to add bonus points for the Trojans. Colby also picked up two additional victories as Cristina Palacio Martinez and Audrie Felkins were both awarded wins by forfeit.
Against Hastings, the Trojans fell 46-4. The Trojans were able to break through with a single victory as Destiny Gonzalez delivered a 12–1 technical fall, giving Colby its lone points of the dual.
Colby continues to show progress with strong individual performances across the lineup as the Trojans now prepare for the AU Women's Eagle Open Sunday (Dec. 12).
