CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Colby Trojans sophomore setter Amanda Caputi has been selected to the NJCAA Division I Second Team All-American, capping another remarkable season directing the Trojans. The honor marks the second All-American recognition of her career, following a First Team selection during her freshman season, and cements her place in program history as the only Trojans volleyball player to earn All-American distinction twice.
The KJCCC Division I Volleyball Player of the Year delivered one of the most dominant seasons by any setter in the NJCAA. She led the entire nation in assists per set (11.13) and had a total of 1,191 assists. Under her direction, Colby averaged 13.53 kills per set, the best per set total in the nation.
Beyond her setting dominance, Caputi remained one of the team's most reliable all-around players. Offensively, she added a .364 hitting percentage, 0.66 kills per set and 0.66 blocks per set. She contributed 71 total blocks, 71 kills, and 34 service aces.
A consistent performer throughout the season, Caputi earned KJCCC Setter of the Week six times. Across two seasons in Colby, Caputi has redefined the standard for the position, first as a freshman earning First Team All-American distinction, and now as a sophomore being recognized among the nation's elite once again.
Her accolades of Conference Player of the Year, Two All-American honors, and the national lead in assists per set, only confirm what was clear all season, Amanda Caputi was one of the most dominant players in Colby volleyball history.
Caputi will leave Colby with a legacy marked by statistical dominance, championship-level consistency, and an unmatched ability to elevate those around her, traits that helped push the Trojans to one of the most dynamic offensive seasons in the KJCCC.
