Colby Community College welcomed former Olympian and world medalist Sandra Glover as Head Coach of the Trojan Track & Field program in 2025. Entering her first season with Colby Athletics, Glover brings a championship-caliber resume, proven leadership, and a passion for athlete development.

A 2000 U.S. Olympian and two-time World Championships medalist in the 400-meter hurdles, Glover was a four-time USA Track & Field Trials Champion (1999–2002) and NCAA All-American in 1991 at the University of Houston.

She joins the Trojans after recent assistant coaching stops at Western New Mexico University and the University of Houston (2019–2024), where she coached long sprinters, hurdlers, and middle-distance runners. While at Houston, she mentored nine NCAA First Team All-Americans, four NCAA Second Team All-Americans, and seven national qualifiers. Her athletes earned three Big 12 individual titles and set multiple school records, including standout performances from 2024 Big 12 Female Indoor Athlete of the Year Kelly-Ann Beckford, U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier Sydni Townsend, and American Conference 800m champion Lloyd Frilot.

Glover also coached at Alcorn State University, Prairie View A&M, and Houston Christian University, contributing to multiple conference champions and school records across sprints, hurdles, and jumps.

A USATF Level 1 certified coach, she holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston (1993). Known for her commitment to academic and athletic excellence, Glover emphasizes mentorship, discipline, and preparing student-athletes for success at the next level.

At Colby, she leads both the men’s and women’s track & field programs, focusing on recruiting, training, and building a foundation of excellence. As she begins her first season with the Trojans, Glover’s vision is clear that she is excited to develop exceptional talent and help elevate Colby into a highly respected and competitive program.
