MANHEIM, Pa. – Three members of the Colby men's wrestling team have been recognized for their academic success as the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced its NJCAA Men's Scholar All-American honorees Thursday (March 12).
Freshmen Talon Suttles and Robert Tatum, along with sophomore Luis Vasquez, each earned the national academic distinction for their work in the classroom while competing during the 2025–26 wrestling season.
Suttles, who is pursuing an Associate of Science degree in Pre-Physical Therapy, was one of the first-year student-athletes honored on the list. Tatum, also a freshman, is working toward an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. Vasquez, a sophomore, earned recognition while studying General Studies and Business Marketing. He also was a scholar All-American last season.
In total, 176 student-athletes from 38 institutions across the country were recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association for their academic achievements.
The scholar honors were announced following the conclusion of the NJCAA Men's Wrestling Championships, which took place March 6–7. Indian Hills captured the national team title with 201.5 points and three individual champions.
The three selections highlight the continued emphasis on academic achievement within the Colby Community College wrestling program, recognizing student-athletes who excel both in competition and in the classroom.
