Colby Community College Athletics announced Jazmine Esparza as the 5th Head Softball Coach in program history in 2024. Esparza joins the Trojans program after two years as an assistant coach at Kansas Wesleyan University (2022-2024). 

Before Kansas Wesleyan, Esparza was an Assistant Coach at the College of Canyons in Santa Clarita, California (2021-2022), Esparza was primarily responsible for the team's infielders and provided hitting instructions at both stops.

When asked about what interested her in the position, Esparza stated, "I believe in the potential of the Colby Community College Softball program to achieve success and desire to be a part of that growth." Esparza continued,  "My Interest in being part of the Colby community stems from a supportive and welcoming environment, as well as being a part of a competitive conference (KJCCC)."

Esparza was a student-athlete at the University of Central Florida, where she started during the 2016-2021 seasons. In her final season at UCF, Esparza competed at first base, catcher, and outfield positions. She batted .349 during her senior season and was ranked 29th in the nation with 15 doubles. Esparza was named All-American Athletic Conference First-Team and an NFCA Mideast All-Region Second-Team selection. 

As a first-year Head Coach, Esparza and her team went 31-27 and 11-21 in conference action and was the sixth seed in the Region VI Tournament.

Esparza graduated from UCF with a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Exercise Science (2020) and graduated from Kansas Wesleyan with a Masters in Sports Management (2024).
