LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore standout Briley Christensen has added another major accolade to her breakout season, earning 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NJCAA Division I All-Region honors, the organization announced Monday (May18) afternoon.
Christensen, who earlier in the year was named NJCAA National Player of the Week, capped one of the most dominant offensive seasons in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC), establishing herself as one of the premier hitters in NJCAA Division I softball.
At the plate, Christensen delivered a staggering .463 batting average while pairing elite power and on-base production with an .872 slugging percentage and a .565 on-base percentage. She launched 18 home runs, placing her among the conference leaders, and drove in 71 RBIs, finishing near the top of the KJCCC leaderboard in run production. Her offensive impact was further reflected in how opponents approached her, as she drew 39 walks throughout the season, frequently forcing opposing pitchers to work carefully or avoid the strike zone altogether. Christensen also recorded 21 multi-hit performances, consistently producing in both conference and non-conference matchups.
Defensively, she anchored the infield for the Trojans, splitting time between third base and second base. She posted a .910 fielding percentage while totaling 66 assists, providing steady play on the left side and middle infield throughout the season.
The NFCA honor adds to an already impressive sophomore campaign and underscores Christensen's emergence as one of the most impactful two-way infield contributors in NJCAA Division I softball.
