After a dominant week at the plate, Colby Trojan sophomore Bailey Christensen has been named the KJCCC Player of the Week, the conference announced.
Christensen powered the Trojan offense during a six-game stretch, going 9-for-12 at the plate while driving in 11 runs, scoring nine times, and recording five extra-base hits. The sophomore posted an impressive 1.667 slugging percentage and a .762 on-base percentage, consistently reaching base and creating scoring opportunities for Colby.
One of Christensen's top performances came in a win over Garden City Community College, where she went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBIs, and three runs scored.
She continued her hot hitting against Northeastern Junior College, collecting four hits across the doubleheader, including a double and a home run.
Christensen capped the week in dominant fashion against Fort Hays Tech Northwest, blasting another home run and driving in five RBIs during the doubleheader as the Trojans secured a pair of victories.
Overall, Christensen reached base 16 times in 22 plate appearances during the week and did not strike out once, highlighting one of the most productive offensive stretches of the season for the Trojans and earning conference recognition as the KJCCC Player of the Week.
