Downes Finishes Strong at OPSU Rodeo

Colby Community College rodeo athlete Lakoddah Downes turned in a strong performance at the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Rodeo held April 24-26 in Goodwell.

Downes posted a time of 4.7 seconds in the long round of steer wrestling, tying for second and third place to advance to the short round. He followed with a 12.1-second run in the short round, tying for fourth and fifth in that round. His combined times earned him second place in the average.

The showing capped a solid season for Downes, who finished seventh overall in the year-end steer wrestling standings.
