The historical season continues for Trojans cross country runner Wesley Banguria after his performance at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open Saturday. He set an 8k course record with a time of 23:11.8 and 55 seconds ahead of the runner-up.
For his effort, the sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya, collected his third U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Male Athlete of the Week honor. Before Banguria, no CCC athlete earned the honor more than once. Additionally, he was named the NJCAA National Athlete of the Week.
