Colby Community College named Jason Davis as the head coach of the Trojan Track & Field program in 2026, bringing more than 20 years of collegiate coaching experience across the NCAA Division II and Division III levels to Colby.

Davis has built a lengthy coaching career centered around athlete development, program leadership, recruiting, and academic success. Throughout his career, he has overseen all aspects of collegiate track & field programs, including recruiting coordination, budgeting, compliance, scheduling, travel operations, fundraising, and student-athlete mentorship.

Prior to arriving at Colby, Davis most recently coached at Earlham College, where he managed all facets of the track & field program while continuing to emphasize both athletic and academic growth for student-athletes.

Before his time at Earlham, Davis spent six seasons as the Head Track & Field Coach at Marietta College from 2017-2023. During his tenure, he coached athletes across multiple event groups while directing the day-to-day operations of the NCAA Division III program. Davis also served as the Head Track & Field Coach at Lake Superior State University from 2013-2017, leading the NCAA Division II program while implementing year-round training plans and directing recruiting and athlete development efforts. Earlier in his coaching career, Davis held assistant coaching positions at Susquehanna University, Bloomsburg University, Lees–McRae College, and Wilmington College. He also served as the Head Women’s Cross Country Coach at College of Mount St. Joseph.

Among his coaching accomplishments are multiple conference coaching staff honors, including Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year recognition, along with being named the 2009 NCAA Southeast Region Division II Assistant Coach of the Year.

“We are excited to welcome Coach Davis to the Trojan family,” said Colby Athletic Director Kenny Hernandez. “Jason brings a tremendous amount of experience and leadership to our program. His background at multiple collegiate levels, commitment to student-athlete success, and passion for developing athletes make him a great fit for Colby Community College.”

“I’m excited to get started at Colby,” Davis said. “The foundation is there to build a first-class program. I’m thankful to the administration for trusting me with the program, and I’m excited to work alongside our staff as we continue building something special. It’s going to be a fun challenge.”

A graduate of Wilmington College, Davis immediately began leading the Trojan Track & Field program while continuing Colby’s tradition of regional and national competitiveness.
