Petty Earns KJCCC Field Athlete of the Week Honors with PR Hammer Throw

COLBY, Kan. — Tamario Petty of Colby has been named the KJCCC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week following a standout performance at the Grizzly Gold Invitational.
Petty delivered a career-best showing in multiple events, highlighted by a strong performance in the hammer throw where he recorded a mark of 43.04 meters (141 feet, 2 inches). That throw not only set a new personal best but also ranks as the fifth-best mark in program history for the Trojans.
In addition to his success in the hammer throw, Petty also achieved a new collegiate best in the discus, continuing to show his development and consistency across the throwing events.
His performance played a key role in a productive outing for Colby at the meet and earned him conference recognition as one of the top field athletes in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
With the outdoor season in full swing, Petty's momentum positions him as a key contributor for the Trojans moving forward as they continue to compete against conference and regional competition.
