The Colby Community College Track & Field program will officially open the 2025–26 season on Friday (Oct. 17) with its annual Intrasquad Showcase at the Colby Football Stadium. The event begins at 3 p.m. and marks the Trojans only home event of the season.
Friday's showcase will feature a full slate of events, including the 100 meter mixed shuttle relay, shot put, 500 and 300 meter races, long jump, hurdles, weight throw, and the 4x400 meter mixed relay finale.
The action begins at 3:00 p.m. with athlete introductions, followed by the 100-meter mixed shuttle relay at 3:05 to kick off the competition. Field events get underway shortly after with the shot put at 3:10, leading into the 500-meter and 300-meter races at 3:30 and 3:40, respectively. At 3:50, athletes will compete in the discus and long jump, followed by the 60-meter hurdles at 4:10 and the weight throw at 4:15. The showcase concludes with an exciting 4x400-meter mixed relay at 4:35 p.m., wrapping up an afternoon full of Trojan competition.
On the women's side, the Trojans return four key contributors in Delal Aktay, Beatrice Boakye, Isabelle Gillham, and Dekanya Webb, joined by seven talented freshmen looking to make an immediate impact.
The men's team features a balanced roster of seven returners, including Redith Stubbs, Tamario Petty, Walter Parker, Jonathan Mader, Denagelo Delancy, Jared Cox, and Javono Bridgewater, alongside eight newcomers who will debut in Trojans uniforms.
This year's showcase also marks the Colby debut of first-year head coach Sandra Glover, a 2000 U.S. Olympian and two-time World Championships medalist in the 400-meter hurdles. Glover brings international experience and a proven record of developing NCAA All-Americans and conference champions to the Trojan program. "This is a great opportunity for our student-athletes to compete in front of our home crowd and set the tone for the year," Glover said.
The track season is set to open in late January, with the Trojans eyeing the Thane Baker Invitational as their first test of the year.
