Matt Glover was named head coach of the Colby Trojans men's basketball program in 2026, bringing a diverse background in collegiate coaching, recruiting, player development, and professional playing experience to Colby Community College.

Glover arrived at Colby following two successful seasons as head coach at Fort Scott Community College, where he managed all aspects of the men’s basketball program including recruiting, player development, academics, budgeting, scheduling, and alumni engagement. During his tenure, he guided the Greyhounds to the NJCAA Region 6 Division II Plains District Championship, the program’s first region title since 2014. Fort Scott’s postseason run included an upset victory over previously unbeaten and nationally-ranked No. 1 Johnson County before defeating No. 2 Allen in the championship game to secure a berth in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

Prior to Fort Scott, Glover spent three seasons as lead assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Colorado State University Pueblo. There, he coordinated recruiting efforts across multiple states and the NCAA Transfer Portal while serving as defensive coordinator for the program. His work helped develop multiple All-RMAC performers and contributed to a team GPA above 3.2. Glover also played key roles in fundraising, alumni relations, and academic coordination.

Glover began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Regis University, helping the Rangers to a 20-win season and conference semifinal appearance while assisting with player development, academics, and camp operations.

As a player, Glover competed at multiple levels of basketball, including junior college, NCAA Division I, and professional basketball. He played professionally for two seasons in Georgia and Mexico following his collegiate career. At the Division I level, Glover was a two-year starter at University of San Francisco, leading the Dons in assists in consecutive seasons while averaging 6.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. Before transferring to San Francisco, he played at Penn State University during the 2011–12 season, appearing in 32 games with 21 starts against Big Ten competition. He began his collegiate playing career at Sheridan College.

Glover earned a Master of Arts in Sports Administration from Regis University and received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of San Francisco.

Known for his defensive mindset and energetic leadership style, Glover emphasizes toughness, discipline, player development, and team-first basketball. His philosophy centers on developing student-athletes both on and off the court while building a competitive culture grounded in accountability, unselfishness, and high-level effort.

At Colby, Glover aims to reestablish the Trojans as a competitive force in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference while building strong relationships within the campus and surrounding community.
