Bio

Coach Caleb Ligon joins the Trojans staff with experience at both the NJCAA and NCAA Division II levels, bringing a strong background in player development and recruiting.

Prior to arriving at Colby, Ligon served as Assistant to Head Coach Matt Glover at Fort Scott Community College, helping guide the Greyhounds to one of the most memorable seasons in program history. Fort Scott captured the NJCAA Region 6 Division II Plains District Championship, earning the program’s first region title since 2014. The postseason run featured an upset victory over previously unbeaten and nationally ranked No. 1 Johnson County before the Greyhounds defeated No. 2 Allen in the championship game to secure a berth in the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

Before his time at Fort Scott, Ligon worked on staff at the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith from 2022-2025. During his tenure with the Lions, he played an integral role in player development, helping mentor multiple all-conference performers including two Third Team All-Lone Star Conference selections, one Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention honoree, and one All-MIAA Third Team selection.

Ligon began his collegiate basketball journey as a student-athlete at Williams Baptist University during the 2021-22 season, an experience that helped shape his understanding of the game from a player’s perspective.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Ligon has assisted with operations for the NCAA Basketball Academy, USA Basketball, and the Nike EYBL Circuit, gaining valuable exposure to elite-level talent evaluation, event management, and national basketball operations.

A native of Greenwood, Arkansas, Ligon graduated from Greenwood High School.
