Cason Notches All-KJCCC Honorable Mention Honors
One member of the Colby Trojans men's basketball team was recognized for his performance this season as the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced its postseason men’s basketball awards Thursday. Sophomore D.J. Cason was named All-KJCCC Honorable Mention after leading the Trojans in several offensive categories during the 2025–26 campaign.
COLBY, Kan. – One member of the Colby Trojans men's basketball team was recognized for his performance this season as the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced its postseason men's basketball awards Thursday (March 12). Sophomore D.J. Cason was named All-KJCCC Honorable Mention after leading the Trojans in several offensive categories during the 2025–26 campaign.
The Fort Worth, Texas native averaged 15.8 points per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the field. Cason also ranked among the conference's most efficient perimeter shooters, leading the KJCCC for much of the season in three-point percentage at 48.0 percent while making over three three-pointers per game. In addition, he led the conference in free throw percentage at 92.6 percent.
Along with his scoring ability, Cason contributed across the stat sheet, averaging 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while serving as a captain and leader for the Trojans.
Cason produced 13 games with 20 or more points during the season. One of his biggest performances came in a signature win over the No. 25 ranked Seward County Saints, when he scored 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including four three-pointers.
He also recorded two 24-point performances against Kansas Wesleyan JV, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and knocking down five three-pointers in one of those outings. In another key victory over Cloud County, Cason poured in 20 points, highlighted by a perfect 11-for-11 performance from the free throw line.
Cason's consistent scoring and leadership provided a major offensive spark for the Trojans throughout the season and earned him recognition among the conference's top players.
