COLBY, Kan. – Colby Trojans Athletics is proud to announce that men's basketball standout Aliou Diallo has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Diallo helped lead Colby to two key conference victories last week over Fort Hays Tech Northwest and Garden City, securing the Trojans' spot in the upcoming NJCAA Region 6 Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. He averaged 21.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game, shooting 44.4 percent from the field and hitting 14-for-14 from the free-throw line across the two contests.
In Wednesday's (Feb. 25) 71–70 victory over Fort Hays Tech, Diallo scored 18 points, including the game-winning basket, demonstrating his clutch performance in a tight matchup. He followed that with a team-high 24 points, six rebounds, and four assists in Saturday's (Feb. 28) 80–60 win over Garden City, helping the Trojans control the game from start to finish.
Diallo's recognition marks a major milestone for the Colby men's basketball program this season, as he becomes the first Trojan to earn KJCCC Player of the Week honors.
Colby will continue play this week at Butler on Wednesday (March 4) and then the NJCAA Region 6 opening round set for Saturday (March 7).
