COLBY, Kan. — Sophomore Turner Zdunich has been named KJCCC Player of the Week following a dominant stretch that powered the Trojans' offense in a key conference series victory.
Zdunich turned in one of the most impressive offensive weeks of the season, hitting an astounding .556 (10-for-18) over four games while scoring seven runs and driving in nine. He tallied three home runs and two triples, compiling five extra-base hits and 23 total bases en route to a 1.278 slugging percentage and a .579 on-base percentage.
The sophomore recorded multiple hits in three of the four contests, highlighted by a 4-for-6 performance in a wild 17–15 victory over Garden City. He also came just a single shy of the cycle during Saturday's doubleheader.
Zdunich saved his biggest moment for last, delivering a walk-off home run in the series finale to secure the win and clinch the series victory over Garden City.
His all-around performance at the plate played a pivotal role in the Trojans' success and earned him conference recognition as this week's top performer.
Colby will look to carry that momentum forward as they have non-conference games scheduled all week before the last onference series of the season against Dodge City.
