Trojans winter sports schedule released

After practicing throughout the fall semester, Colby Community College student-athletes finally get to face other schools. Fans will not be allowed to attend until at least Feb. 5 but contests will be streamed online.

"After the longest off-season any of us will likely ever experience, I'm so excited to see our athletes back to competing," said CCC Athletic Director Mike Saddler. "The college, the Jayhawk Conference, and the NJCAA have taken extraordinary steps to ensure that our athletes might have the chance to compete in a way that is safe to the athletes, the college, and our communities. While things will look different for much of the year with no fans to begin with and extra precautions in place when they are able to return, the chance for these athletes to compete again is what we've been working towards for months."

Cross country was the only Trojans sport competing last fall after the NJCAA shifted men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and wrestling contests to January. The baseball and softball seasons will begin as usual, with schedules being published in early February.
