Lady Trojans win first of three matches in final week

Monday night the Colby Community College volleyball team began the first of three matches in five days with a win over Pratt Community College, 25-15, 25-21 and 25-23.

The Lady Trojans were able to make quick work of the Beavers at the Colby Community Building with a balanced attack. Julie Archer had a game-high 10 kills while Melanie Loiseau and Sammi Spellman each had 22 assists. Nina Gorgijevska led the defense with 18 digs.

Colby (22-8, 10-4) wraps up the regular season schedule Wednesday at Seward County (29-1, 14-0) and Friday at Garden City (10-20, 6-8). Oct. 31 the Lady Trojans host a first round Region VI play-in match. Game time for all matches is 6:30 p.m.
