A second half rally came up short Wednesday night for the Colby Community College women's basketball team as they fell 60-50 to Allen Community College.
"It was a tough loss in a winnable game. We came out sluggish in the first half but the ladies fought hard in the second half," said Colby head coach Shareka Maner.
The slow start by the Lady Trojans put them in a 34-14 hole by halftime. Though Colby outscored Allen 36-26 in the second half, the deficit was too large.
"We have to start putting four quarters together," Maner added.
Kyeanna Kincade turned in a double-double for Allen with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lady Trojans have a quick turnaround as they host Independence Community College Saturday for a 6 p.m. tip.
